My name is L. C. "Charlie" Hensley. Thank you for visiting my website.
I have lived in Oak Ridge since 1968 and very much appreciate the special characteristics and
excellent services provided by this city. I am a licensed mechanical engineer. I retired
from the local plants in 1997 after 29 years in the Engineering Division. I also worked for eight years
for Oak Ridge Tool-Engineering (ORT-E) and currently consult, part-time for the company. I
currently spend most of my time volunteering in the Oak Ridge Schools.
My expertise, interests, background, and specifically eight year service on the Oak Ridge
Planning Commission qualifies me for the City Council. I advocate a balanced approach toward
development, preservation of open spaces, quality growth based upon sound planning, and
attention to citizen inputs on issues.
I am currently retired and can, if elected to
City Council, dedicate myself full time to the duties of the City Council and to addressing
issues facing our City. Please see the links to the left for more information about my
